Topic: Beyond the Parish Registers

We are all familiar with Parish Registers and Bishop's Transcript which have recorded vital events for most people in the United Kingdom. They started in England and Wales in1534, in Scotland in1560, and Ireland in 1634. There are, however, many other church records which may contain the names of your ancestors. These include vestry minutes, pew rentals, confirmations, kirk session minutes and assistance for the poor. We will delve into some of these records to see what information they contain which can assist you with your genealogy
